Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is a hybrid position responsible for both front desk operations and basic clinical support to ensure smooth daily clinic operations and an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk / Reception Duties
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
- Manage patient flow and coordinate with clinical staff
- Handle administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and filing
Medical Assistant Duties
- Prepare patients for exams (vitals, medical history, chief complaints)
- Assist providers during patient visits and procedures
- Administer injections, vaccines, and perform basic lab tests (if certified)
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Support patient education and follow-up instructions
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (or relevant experience)
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems and basic medical terminology
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills
- Experience with primary care or family practice settings
- Bilingual (a plus)
