Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is a hybrid position responsible for both front desk operations and basic clinical support to ensure smooth daily clinic operations and an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk / Reception Duties

  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries
  • Verify insurance information and collect co-pays
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
  • Manage patient flow and coordinate with clinical staff
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and filing

Medical Assistant Duties

  • Prepare patients for exams (vitals, medical history, chief complaints)
  • Assist providers during patient visits and procedures
  • Administer injections, vaccines, and perform basic lab tests (if certified)
  • Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
  • Support patient education and follow-up instructions
  • Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and safety standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred (or relevant experience)
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and basic medical terminology
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with primary care or family practice settings
  • Bilingual (a plus)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
