Inventory Control Associate
International Window Corporation manufactures an extensive line of window and doors. Everything we do is dedicated to serving the residential and light commercial building industries. Responsibilities
Candidate will work closely with the Purchasing Manager/Purchasing Assistant and Department Supervisors to actively maintain inventory levels.
Track inventory:
•Monitor and document inventory levels of raw materials, parts, supplies, and finished products using inventory management software, such as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Manage materials:
• Perform or oversee the movement of materials, including receiving, inspecting, labeling, and storing incoming shipments.
Reconcile discrepancies:
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical stock and system records by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Support production:
• Coordinate with the production team to pull and kit materials for work orders, ensuring all necessary components are available to prevent production delays.
Improve processes:
•Identify and report inventory issues, such as slow-moving or obsolete items. Work with management and other departments to develop and implement improved inventory control procedures and best practices.
Report on performance:
• Generate and analyze inventory reports to communicate stock status, turnover rates, and other relevant metrics to management.
Operate equipment:
• Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move materials within the plant.
Ensure compliance:
•Maintain a clean and organized stockroom or warehouse according to company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or GED is often required
Experience: 3 Years of prior experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a manufacturing environment is essential. Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is often highly preferred.
Technical skills:
Inventory Software: Proficiency with inventory management ERP software and database systems
Data Analysis: Competence with spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel tracking and reporting.
Equipment Operation: Certification and experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment is often required.
Soft skills:
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and a meticulous approach to record-keeping are critical.
Organizational Skills: The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve inventory issues.
Physical Requirements: The ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
