Automotive Technician Automotive Mechanic

The Automotive Technician / Automotive Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and inspections primarily in a small independent shop environment. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role requires skilled hands-on expertise to ensure vehicles are serviced efficiently and safely while maintaining strong customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle diagnostics to identify issues
• Perform repairs on engines, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Complete routine maintenance and preventive care
• Carry out thorough vehicle inspections
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and outcomes
• Adhere to safety standards and compliance regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in automotive repair
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in engine diagnostics and brake systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and hydraulic systems
• Experience with preventive maintenance
• Excellent customer communication abilities
• Effective problem-solving and time management skills
