Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to provide administrative and legal support to a public sector oversight committee. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal administrative experience who thrives in a fast-paced, confidential environment and enjoys producing high-quality written work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and legal support to executive leadership and committee members.
  • Review investigative files, supporting documentation, and confidential case materials.
  • Draft written summaries, opinions, and other legal documents for committee review and approval.
  • Prepare meeting materials, organize agendas, and maintain confidential records and documentation.
  • Proofread meeting agendas, minutes, correspondence, and other documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with document management and ensure records are maintained in an organized and confidential manner.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review confidential information and prepare clear, concise documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have qualifications:
  • Reviewing investigative materials and evidence submitted by the Police Department's Internal Affairs Division for Administrative Charging Committee cases.
  • Drafting opinions for each Administrative Charging Committee meeting for committee members to review, revise, and approve.
  • Assist our Executive Assistant in providing administrative support to the Police Accountability Board and Administrative Charging Committee.

  • Nice to have qualifications:
  • Assisting our Executive Assistant with meeting preparation, document management, and maintaining confidential records.
  • Supporting our Executive Assistant with administrative tasks, including proofreading meeting agendas, minutes, and other documents for accuracy and completeness.
