Primary Function:

This position is responsible for an advanced level of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light duty trucks or emergency vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform more advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs on light-duty trucks and emergency vehicles.
  • Install and service mechanical systems, suspension components and drivetrains.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair engine performance, brakes, cooling systems, ignition systems, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Maintain and repair new vehicle set up.
  • Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and a clean and safe work area.
  • Ensure all work complies with DOT, NFPA, and other regulatory guidelines as required.
  • Maintain accurate service records and follow company and industry safety standards.
  • Manage and report time on tasks.
  • Wash, clean and prep new vehicles for service.
  • Ability to train and mentor more junior mechanics.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have their own tools and a valid state license.
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, diagnostics and repair.
  • Ensure all work complies with Triple KKK standards.
  • Ability to use diagnostic test equipment, scanners, and multi-meters.

Experience:

High School Diploma or GED and at least 5 years of experience in an electrical automotive environment or equivalent experience. Proficient in all advanced repair disciplines (welding, carpentry, fabrication, knowledge of air brakes systems. etc.) and have a willingness to learn new systems as they relate to emergency vehicles. Driver’s license CDL B with air brake and bus endorsement a plus.
