Job Description

The Assistant Principal is a critical team member supporting the school's leadership to create and sustain a strengths-based culture. They must ensure a safe campus and positive learning environment. The Assistant Principal collaborates with other leadership, staff, students, and parents to achieve educational goals and maintain school standards and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Educational Leadership
    • Supervise curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment.
    • Promote a positive, strengths-based, and tolerant school culture.
  2. Student Management:
    • Oversee student discipline and attendance.
    • Address and resolve student behavioral issues.
    • Implement programs to support student academic and social development.
  3. Staff Supervision and Development:
    • Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    • Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and federal laws.
    • Manage school operations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
    • Special Services/Education Director duties
  5. Community Relations:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the community.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about school programs and student progress.
    • Coordinate and participate in school events and activities.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional practices.
    • Prepare and present reports on school performance and improvement initiatives.
    • Use data to identify areas for growth and implement improvement plans.
    • Oversee operations of school SIS software.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in school administration or a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and data management systems.
