Job Description
The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for managing general ledger accounts including fixed assets, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, real estate & personal property taxes, reconciling accounts, assisting with sales & use tax filings, lease accounting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting for a high-growth subsidiary of the Company. The Senior Accountant will also be primarily responsible for the month-end and year-end close processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations of this subsidiary.

  1. Prepare month-end close journal entries
  2. Complete balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations and analysis during month-end close as assigned
  3. Perform close administration – maintain journal entry checklist, account reconciliation checklist, & secondary review checklist
  4. Account reviews and analyses throughout the month and posting of transactions
  5. General ledger integrity reports and validations
  6. Prepare state and local tax filings, personal property tax filings, licenses, and registrations for business operations
  7. Perform cash management functions, including but not limited to daily bank deposits, weekly payment processing, & research on transactions
  8. Record property transactions including but not limited to rent and related expenses, utilities, insurance, and other transactions on a weekly and monthly basis as necessary
  9. Perform lease administration and review in accordance with ASC 842
  10. Manage property and equipment, goodwill, and intangibles
  11. Oversee expense report and purchasing card processes
  12. Work closely with accounting generalists, other staff & senior accountants, and accounts payable team members
  13. Crosstrain with other accountants to ensure flow of tasks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA eligible is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience in financial analysis
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
