PURPOSE:
Assistant Professor of Journalism
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Training in journalism, editing, broadcast and podcast professions.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible learning environments for diverse populations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
- Professional experience in broadcast journalism, both radio and television, and podcasting preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, registrations:
- A record of scholarship and publication or evidence of a productive research agenda.
- Minimum of five years' experience in professional podcasting preferred.
- M.A. in Journalism or Mass Communications required.
- Evidence of experience working with underprepared and diverse student population.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
