About the Opportunity
A recycling plant in Strasburg, Virginia is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily production operations, drive safety and accountability, and ensure the team consistently meets key performance indicators.
This role is ideal for a hands-on plant leader who can maintain a strong floor presence, manage production teams, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing or recycling environment.
The Production Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and play a key role in improving output, cost control, waste reduction, machine utilization, team performance, and overall operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
%CF; Lead and manage production teams to ensure safe, efficient daily operations
%CF; Oversee production activities to meet targets for output, waste, cost control, and machine utilization
%CF; Maintain a strong leadership presence on the production floor
%CF; Ensure production procedures are current, consistent, and followed across all processes
%CF; Drive safety culture and compliance with safety, environmental, and labor requirements
%CF; Track, monitor, and improve KPIs across production operations
%CF; Analyze production data to identify operational improvements
%CF; Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance
%CF; Coordinate schedules, staffing, and resources to support production goals
%CF; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues quickly
%CF; Identify quality issues, ensure proper investigation, and drive corrective action
%CF; Lead team development, employee engagement, and performance accountability
%CF; Participate in management team planning, priority setting, and plant development
What You Bring
%CF; Bachelor’s degree in a related manufacturing or management discipline preferred
%CF; 3+ years of relevant plant leadership experience
%CF; Strong safety and performance track record
%CF; Experience managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement
%CF; Strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills
%CF; Proven ability to develop and implement operational plans that improve efficiency
%CF; Strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities
%CF; Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of management
%CF; Ability to make tough business and people decisions in a fast-paced environment
%CF; Collaborative, team-oriented leadership style
%CF; Ability to build respect, trust, and accountability with production teams
%CF; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
