Direct Support Professional (Manufacturing, Transition & Employment Services) – Per Diem

CCARC is seeking a compassionate and motivated Per Diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Manufacturing, Transition, and Employment Services programs.

In this role, you'll provide individualized job coaching and employment support in community-based work settings, helping individuals build confidence, develop workplace skills, and achieve greater independence.


Position Details

Position: Direct Support Professional – Manufacturing, Transition & Employment Services

Department: Manufacturing, Transition & Employment Services

Reports To: Director of Business Development

Schedule: Per Diem (Hours based on program needs; weekday daytime availability preferred)


What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

  • Provide individualized job coaching and support in manufacturing, transition, and community employment settings.
  • Travel to community businesses and internship sites within approximately a 30-minute radius of CCARC.
  • Assist individuals in learning job duties, developing workplace skills, and increasing independence.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
  • Support individuals with employment readiness, including resume development, interview preparation, and job search activities.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation, including attendance, daily reports, and electronic records in Therap.
  • Build positive relationships with community employers and serve as a liaison between employment sites and CCARC.
  • Participate in Individual Plan (IP) meetings, trainings, and team meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding participant progress and program updates.
  • Serve as a positive role model while encouraging independence, confidence, and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to complete all required CCARC training
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email
  • Experience with Therap is preferred

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Bend, twist, stoop, and reach throughout the workday
  • Lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
  • Work safely in manufacturing facilities, community employment settings, and varying environmental conditions
