Stationary Steam Engineer

Brewer-Garrett is seeking two Stationary Steam Engineers to operate, maintain, and repair steam turbines and auxiliary equipment. Duties include monitoring gauges and automated controls to manage pressure and temperature, perform water treatment analysis, ensure safety compliance, and conduct preventative maintenance to keep facility power and HVAC systems running continuously.

Core Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Start, regulate, and shut down turbines, and auxiliary equipment like pumps, compressors, and chillers.
• Monitoring & Control: Track meters, charts, and computer systems to maintain optimal system efficiency.
• Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, lubricate moving parts, and execute Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures for safe repairs and annual inspections.
• Documentation: Maintain precise logs of daily operations, instrument readings, maintenance activities, and malfunctions.

Typical Requirements

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED coupled with an apprenticeship, trade school, or 3 to 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Licensing: A current State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer license.
• Physical & Environment: Frequently work in confined spaces, at heights, and around high temperatures or loud noise. Must be capable of lifting heavy objects.
