Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company is looking for a Project Superintendent for the Pearl Harbor Dry Dock Replacement project. The Superintendent is responsible to lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site while maintaining orderliness on site and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for hiring, firing, training and supervision of field labor and subordinates; makes work assignments.
- Assists Project Manager and Project Engineers in scheduling work, checks work for compliance with contract specifications; provides daily review and consultation on work methods and progress in the field and provides technical supervision in specialty areas. Ensures project schedule using P-6, P-3 or Microsoft Projects is updated as needed.
- Schedules subcontractor work to coincide with general contractor; checks performance of subcontractor work; assures optimum utilization of labor force for subcontractor work.
- Responsible for determining requirements for supplies, materials, and equipment; schedules delivery, distribution, and utilization thereof.
- Is knowledgeable and utilizes production and equipment cost information done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis against the project schedule.
- Maintains constant communications with contracting agency (or owner, architect, or engineer) representative with respect to performance of the work.
- Responsible for the profitability of project operations productivity.
- Attends pre-job meetings with supervisory staff, foremen, stresses importance of production, quality, and cost on the project.
- Maintain safe and fair working environment.
- Assists with project documentation and preparation of final closeout report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years' experience in construction with at least 5 of those years as a superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity.
- Familiar with requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance.
- Must be able to obtain base access through DIBS.
- Capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Starting Salary: $140,000.00/yr. (exempt)
