Job Description
Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Vernon Hills, Illinois
Assignment Type: 3-month contract with the possibility of extensions
Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

This role will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of fixed asset accounting, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience with SAP
