Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer
Location: Sherman Oaks, CA

About the Opportunity
AutoShop Recruiting is partnering with a high-performing European and luxury-focused independent repair facility in Sherman Oaks, CA to hire a strong Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer.
This is a growth role inside a busy shop that has already proven it can produce strong monthly revenue and is now building the team to reach the next level. The right advisor will help control the front counter, convert phone calls, communicate clearly with customers, support technicians, and keep repair orders moving.
This is not a passive order-taking job. The shop needs a grinder: someone professional, organized, customer-focused, sales-minded, and steady under pressure.
What You'll Do
- Answer phones, build trust quickly, and convert real opportunities into scheduled vehicles
- Greet customers, write repair orders, and set clear expectations from intake through delivery
- Present inspections, estimates, maintenance, and repair recommendations with confidence and integrity
- Communicate with technicians to keep workflow, approvals, parts, and repair status moving
- Follow up on declined work, recommended services, and open opportunities
- Maintain accurate repair order notes, customer communication, and work-in-progress updates
- Support a clean, professional, high-standard customer experience
- Help the shop scale from a strong current revenue base toward the next level of production
What We're Looking For
- Experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, Service Consultant, Senior Advisor, Lead Advisor, or Assistant Service Manager
- Strong phone skills, customer communication, sales ability, and follow-up discipline
- Comfort presenting diagnostic findings, inspections, estimates, maintenance, and repair recommendations
- Organized enough to handle multiple customers, approvals, work-in-progress updates, and technician communication
- Professional presence with customers who drive European and luxury vehicles
- Comfortable being measured by sales, gross profit, car count conversion, ARO, and customer experience
- No-drama, high-energy, accountable personality
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Background
- Independent repair shop service advisor experience
- European, luxury, Land Rover, Jaguar, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, or high-line service experience
- Strong track record with estimate presentation, repair order sales, and customer retention
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-accountability shop environment
