Cleaning Lead – Manufacturing Facility
Location: Riviera Beach
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 4:15 pm
Pay rate: $18 - $20
Job Summary
The Cleaning Lead is responsible for supervising the daily cleaning and sanitation operations within a manufacturing facility. This position ensures production areas, warehouses, offices, break rooms, and restrooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition while complying with company policies, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), when applicable. The Cleaning Lead works alongside the cleaning team, provides training, monitors performance, and serves as the primary point of contact for cleaning-related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of the cleaning team.
- Assign work schedules and cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are cleaned according to established standards.
- Perform regular inspections to verify quality and compliance with company cleanliness and safety requirements.
- Train new employees on cleaning procedures, proper use of equipment, and chemical handling.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures (when applicable), and GMP standards.
- Clean and sanitize production floors, equipment exteriors, warehouses, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, and restrooms.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and operate commercial cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and buffers.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste materials.
- Restock janitorial supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to management promptly.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored, labeled, and used according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Respond to emergency cleaning situations, including spills and other sanitation issues.
- Maintain accurate cleaning logs and inspection records as required.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of safety throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial or industrial cleaning experience.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- GMP experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, climb, and reach.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Push and pull cleaning equipment and supply carts.
- Ability to work around machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures while following all required safety procedures.
Work Schedule
- Full-time.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Flexible schedule to support production and sanitation operations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating industrial floor scrubbers, buffers, pressure washers, and other commercial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive manufacturing environment.
