Insurance Defense Legal Assistant (Bodily Injury) – 5+ Years Experience

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Legal Assistant with a strong background in bodily injury litigation to join our client's growing team.

This is an in-office position, offering flexibility while supporting attorneys in a fast-paced insurance defense practice handling complex bodily injury matters in both state and federal courts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling bodily injury and insurance defense cases
  • Draft, revise, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence in state and federal courts
  • Manage case calendars, court deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Coordinate depositions, court reporters, experts, and witnesses
  • Handle e-filing in state and federal courts
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and trial binders

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant in insurance defense
  • Strong experience handling bodily injury litigation matters
  • Experience supporting cases in both state and federal courts
  • Proficient in state and federal e-filing systems
  • Excellent knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Professional communication skills and strong attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a high-volume litigation environment
  • Familiarity with billing time and insurance carrier guidelines
