LC State invites applications for the position of Instructor of Diesel Technology (non-tenure track).Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $62,000Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college/university plus three years of current experience in a related field; orAssociate degree in a related field from an accredited college/university with five years of current field experience in a related field, orEight years of current experience in a related fieldExperience in electrical, powertrains, and hydraulics as it relates to the diesel repair industry.Experience with repair software used in the diesel industry.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in marketing, advertising, and/or recruiting.Experience instructing adult learners and demonstrate multiple methods of assessing student knowledge and skill to teach and advise students in the Diesel Technology program.Experience managing budgets, designing instructional activities, supervising, creating fruitful partnerships, and/or recruiting and retaining students.Preference will be given to applicants with a Class A CDL.Responsibilities:Instructs and supervises students in the Diesel Technology program. Develop, plan, implement, and revise programs and courses, curriculum, and lesson plans. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintain lab/shop equipment and program/personal certification requirements; attend faculty and educational meetings. Assist in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts as well as ensuring safety and security for the program. Work with the program's advisory committee, industry representatives, and employers to facilitate job and internship opportunities. Operate and maintain program budget, contribute to college-wide goals and activities by serving on committees and other institutional activities.
