Welcome to Aqua-Tots Swim School in Hoover! We teach children how to become safe, confident swimmers for life while having fun in our warm, indoor 90-degree pool.


We are looking for a part-time Aquatics Coordinator with leadership experience and/or childcare background, and a desire to grow long-term with our team.

Job Objective:

The Aquatics Coordinator supports lesson quality, instructor development, and daily aquatic operations. This role works closely with the General Manager to ensure safety, consistency, and a great experience for families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-water training for all new Water Safety Instructor hires
  • Teach a minimum of two swim lesson shifts per week
  • Run assigned shifts by overseeing instructors, schedules, and pool flow
  • Ensure lessons run smoothly with no safety concerns or disruptions
  • Coach instructors in real time and provide clear, supportive feedback
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress, concerns, or complaints
  • Assist with SNAP (Special Needs Aquatics Program) lesson assessments
  • Support emergency preparedness, documentation, and safety procedures
  • Help create a welcoming, organized experience for families each day

  • Confident leadership skills with a calm, positive presence
  • Experience working with children in childcare, education, or similar roles
  • Someone who can lead, teach, and still have fun in the water
  • Flexible availability and willingness to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Interest in a long-term, part-time role
  • Comfort addressing parent concerns with empathy and professionalism

Preferred Experience (Not Required):

  • Leadership or team management experience
  • Aquatics, swimming, lifeguarding, or pool-related experience
  • Staff training or mentoring experience
  • Customer service or family-facing roles
