Pay: $55,000–$65,000 (DOE)

Position Overview
A growing construction company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join its accounting team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing across multiple accounting functions. While accounts payable will be a significant focus, this role also supports reconciliations, month-end activities, financial reporting, and general accounting operations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, and committed to accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Perform three-way matching and ensure appropriate approvals before payment
- Reconcile vendor statements, general ledger accounts, and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Track job costs and ensure proper coding and cost allocations
- Maintain accurate accounting records and organized electronic documentation
- Communicate with vendors, project managers, and internal departments regarding financial matters
- Assist with accounts receivable, cash applications, and other accounting functions as needed
- Provide administrative and operational support to the accounting department
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accounts payable and general accounting
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems; Google Workspace experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Muskogee as needed
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
