Mechanical BIM Detailer (HVAC Piping)

A well-established commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a BIM Detailer - Pipefitter to support HVAC piping projects from preconstruction through fabrication and installation. This role focuses on creating coordinated 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings while working closely with project managers, field teams, and the fabrication shop.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with HVAC piping detailing experience who enjoys solving constructability challenges and working on complex commercial mechanical projects.

• Develop HVAC piping models and construction drawings using Revit and Navisworks
• Coordinate piping layouts with structural, architectural, plumbing, and electrical trades
• Produce fabrication drawings, spool drawings, and installation details
• Review mechanical plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Generate material takeoffs and bills of material
• Support BIM coordination meetings and resolve constructability issues with field teams
• Partner with fabrication and operations to ensure accurate, installable designs

• 2-4 years of HVAC piping detailing, BIM, CAD drafting, or related mechanical construction experience
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks
• Strong understanding of HVAC piping systems and mechanical construction
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Experience with fabrication/shop drawings and trade coordination preferred
• Knowledge of SMACNA, ASHRAE, and applicable building codes is a plus
• Field or installation experience is highly preferred
