Role Overview

Provides the basic needs, health and safety of residents. Assists youth in following therapeutic programming and meeting individual treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the health, safety, supervision, and overall well-being of residents at all times, both on campus and during community-based activities.

• Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques and approved behavior management strategies to support residents and effectively respond to challenging situations.

• Build positive, supportive relationships with residents while remaining sensitive to their emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs.

• Supervise, assist, and teach residents in activities of daily living, including personal care, life skills development, household responsibilities, and independent living skills.

• Facilitate and support residents' participation in recreational, educational, therapeutic, and community-based activities, including transporting residents when authorized to operate agency vehicles.

• Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and model the core values of Respect, On-Task Behavior, Acting Safely, and Responsibility (ROAR).

• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including incident reports, behavior intervention reports, conflict resolution forms, progress notes, and other required records.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, including clinical, medical, educational, and program staff, to ensure coordinated care and services.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by conducting routine inspections, addressing concerns, and reporting issues in accordance with agency policies.

• Adhere to all agency policies, confidentiality requirements, professional standards, training requirements, and organizational values while representing the agency in a positive and professional manner.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED
  • A safe driving record as determined by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience in a residential treatment center working with adolescents

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full- time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday at assigned location. Work hours options are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 4:00pm to 12:00am, or 12:00am to 8:00am.
