We are looking for an experienced Family Law Attorney to join a legal team serving clients in Brielle, New Jersey. This role centers on guiding individuals and families through sensitive legal matters with sound judgment, clear communication, and strong courtroom advocacy. The attorney will handle a varied family law caseload, provide practical counsel, and develop thoughtful legal strategies aimed at protecting each client’s interests.
Responsibilities:
• Advocate for clients in family law matters involving divorce, custody, parenting time, support, adoption, and domestic violence proceedings.
• Prepare, revise, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement terms, case information statements, and other court-related materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Oversee cases from intake through resolution, including strategy development, client counseling, discovery, motion practice, negotiation, and trial preparation.
• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support arguments, evaluate case issues, and remain current on New Jersey family law developments.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or other dispute resolution efforts to reach practical outcomes aligned with client objectives.
• Maintain organized case files, track billable time consistently, and ensure all filings, deadlines, and court procedures are handled in a timely manner.
• Communicate regularly with clients to explain legal options, provide status updates, and respond promptly to questions and concerns.• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and an active New Jersey law license in good standing.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience practicing family law in New Jersey.
• Strong knowledge of New Jersey family law procedure, court practice, and substantive legal standards.
• Demonstrated ability to draft persuasive motions, pleadings, agreements, and related legal documents.
• Experience managing multiple active matters efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Effective negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to pursue favorable resolutions in and out of court.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly to clients.
• High level of responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail in client service and case management.
