Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Journeyman Level II to support the build, wiring, testing, and commissioning of oil & gas measurement equipment, including meter tubes, ultrasonic meter runs, orifice systems, sample systems, and packaged measurement skids. This role is ideal for a technician with strong electrical fundamentals and hands-on instrumentation experience who can work independently in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and terminate electrical and instrumentation components for:
- Ultrasonic, turbine, and orifice meter systems
- Flow computers, transmitters, and RTDs
- Sample systems, analyzers, and probe assemblies
- Control panels, junction boxes, and skid-mounted I&E systems
- Perform conduit routing, cable tray installation, cable pulls, and panel terminations according to shop standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and measurement drawings.
- Assist in the build and testing of measurement skids, including powering up systems, verifying signals, and supporting FAT procedures.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues using multimeters, loop calibrators, and diagnostic tools.
- Support measurement PM’s and drafting teams with redlines, revisions, and technical feedback.
- Document work performed, materials used, and test results for QA and traceability.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-issued).
- 2–3 years of electrical experience.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation, including transmitters, flow computers, RTDs, solenoids, and control wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, and measurement schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in fabrication environments, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to measurement accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fabrication, skid manufacturing, or with oil & gas equipment.
- Experience wiring PLC/VFD panels, motor controls, and low-voltage control systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and wiring methods (Class I Div 1/2).
- Experience supporting FAT testing, signal verification, and commissioning.
