Metals Technician/Analyst

· Perform sample preparation and analysis in compliance with associated methods and SOPS in one or more of the following areas:

o Metals using ICP-OES or ICP-MS (EPA 6010, 6020, 200.7, and 200.8)

o Hexavalent Chrome using ICs (EPA 7199)

o Metals using Flame AA

· Perform analyses in compliance with technical requirements, Quality Assurance policies, and all Health, Safety and Environmental Management requirements.

· Maintains quality control to assure analytical accuracy and precision of test results.

· Compiles and records onto standardized worksheets, logs, and forms, performs calculations and data entry into LIMS.

· Maintains a clean work area including laboratory bench space, equipment, glassware, and instruments.

· Perform calibrations and instrumentation repairs and maintenance including support equipment such as pH meters and analytical balances.

· Establishes and maintains good working relationships with co-workers, and works effectively in a team environment, while performing all duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
