Compliance Coordinator
Full-Time Position in Office

Salary Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Coordinator to oversee lead-based paint testing, exemption filings, and annual safety notice requirements across an affordable housing portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with HPD and NYC Local Law requirements through accurate scheduling, tracking, documentation, and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in managing recurring regulatory deadlines across a large housing portfolio while working with NYC agency systems and portals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Schedule, coordinate, and track XRF lead-based paint testing for all required units in compliance with HPD regulations
  • Prepare, organize, and submit exemption packages to HPD in accordance with applicable Local Laws
  • Track, manage, and ensure timely distribution of annual safety notices, maintaining complete documentation of compliance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking systems, logs, and records to support audits and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with property management teams, vendors, and city agencies to resolve compliance issues and ensure timely completion of all requirements
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and proactively follow up to ensure portfolio-wide adherence to regulatory obligations

Qualifications

  • Experience working with or supporting NYC housing agencies (HPD, DOB, DOHMH, DSNY, or similar)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, and large dataset management)
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume compliance tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and agency coordination
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize a regulated, deadline-driven workload

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with NYC Local Law requirements related to lead-based paint (e.g., LL31 and related regulations)
  • Experience using NYC compliance systems such as HPD Online and DOB NOW
