NOTE: Candidates must have experience interpreting and applying regulations/policies and hands-on experience with expense report reimbursement.
Preferred/Huge Plus: Experience applying Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and policies, along with government accounting experience.
Accounting Specialist IV
Location: Poway, CA
Rate: $30 - $35/hour
Schedule: Day Shift
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Onsite in Poway, 1 WFH day/week
Duration: 4–5 months, with potential FTE conversion
Job Summary
One of the leading Aerospace & Defence industry clien has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist IV to join the Travel Accounting team in Poway, CA. This position is highly transactional and will primarily support GA employees with travel and expense reports.
Key Responsibilities
Review and audit Travel and Expense reports for compliance with processes and procedures.
Interact with travelers and/or administrators regarding expense reports.
Process, complete, and submit expense reports and travel-related documents.
Apply accounting/financial policies and procedures to resolve questions and issues.
Perform general and travel accounting activities and accounting transactions.
Maintain Excel files, track activities, prepare reports, and format data.
Utilize MS Office Suite, SAP, Concur, and other applications.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
High school diploma and typically six or more years of progressive accounting experience; additional experience may substitute for education.
2+ years of relevant experience may be considered for releveling; 3–4 years preferred.
Experience with Excel, SAP, and Concur highly desired.
Experience with travel expense reporting and expense report reimbursement.
Ability to understand and apply regulations, policies, and allowable vs.
unallowable expenses.
Federal travel regulations/policies and government accounting experience
Strong computer literacy, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Ability to accurately complete standard accounting tasks and work with accounting software/applications.
Ability to work extended hours as required.
