Job Description
Location: Memphis, TN | Schedule: Hours vary, must be flexible | Pay: $21-$27/hour (based on experience)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the technology industry to hire experienced Low Voltage Installation Technicians for commercial installation projects. We are seeking technicians with hands-on experience installing structured cabling, IP cameras, access control equipment, and low-voltage systems in commercial environments.

Role SummaryAs a Low Voltage Installation Technician, you will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling and connected devices for commercial customers. Projects include structured cabling, IP cameras, access control systems, intrusion devices, paging systems, and related equipment.
This is a field-based, hands-on installation role requiring experience with commercial construction, renovations, service work, and technology deployments.
Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesInstall and terminate structured cabling to industry standards
Pull, route, label, and test low-voltage cabling
Install and configure Axis IP Cameras
Install Algo IP paging horns and speakers
Mount and wire card readers, electric strikes, door contacts, motion detectors, and related hardware
Install and configure access control devices and intrusion systems
Test and certify cabling using a Fluke Cat6A tester
Troubleshoot cabling faults, connectivity issues, device failures, and system performance problems
Assist with system startup, testing, and commissioning
Train end users on system operation when needed
Complete installation documentation and project records
Travel to project sites as needed, including occasional out-of-town assignments (hotel provided and $45/day per diem)
Adapt to varying start times based on project schedules
Follow safety requirements and installation standards
3-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, access control, CCTV, telecommunications, or related field work
Experience pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing network cabling
Experience installing commercial access control equipment and door hardware
Experience installing and troubleshooting IP camera systems
Proficiency using a Fluke Cat6A tester
Understanding of low-voltage wiring, cable pathways, and installation best practices
Ability to read installation drawings, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule as needed
Experience with Axis IP Cameras
Experience with access control systems and door hardware installation
Experience with structured cabling certification and testing
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
Experience working in commercial construction or retrofit environments
Experience with intrusion detection or paging systems

Pay Details: $21.00 to $27.00 per hour
