Sr Planner/Buyer Analyst
Job Description
Job Summary The Sr Planner/Buyer Analyst develops and manages manufacturing production plans, material requirements, and supplier relationships to support production schedules and new product launches. This role requires advanced problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and financial acumen to ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance with organizational standards. Key Responsibilities Develop manufacturing production plans from the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and project team requirements (R&D/Clinical). Manage issues preventing execution of production plans, including non-conforming materials, equipment availability, and unplanned requirements. Analyze resource availability and develop short- and mid-range capacity plans with manufacturing teams. Generate and manage work orders using the Manufacturing Enterprise system. Collaborate with production, quality, microbiology, and engineering teams to ensure production goals are met. Plan material requirements and place purchase orders to support production schedules and product launches. Negotiate pricing and delivery with suppliers, ensuring materials meet specifications. Lead cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling obstacles, including vendor capacity constraints and material issues. Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) levels and communicate requirements to suppliers. Expedite purchase orders and ensure timely movement of materials through inspection and production. Serve on the Material Review Board (MRB) to address supplier-related issues and recommend dispositions for rejected materials. Manage acquisition of equipment through the Capital Procurement Assets (CPA) process. Establish and maintain inventory targets, develop action plans to minimize exposure, and mitigate excess/obsolete parts. Ensure compliance with standard cost for assigned commodities. Identify, plan, and execute cost reduction initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Required Qualifications B achelor’s degree in finance or a related business field. 2-4 years of finance-related experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in production planning, procurement, and supplier management. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications (if any) Experience in R&D or clinical project support. Familiarity with Manufacturing Enterprise systems. Prior involvement in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives. Certifications (if any) None required; supply chain or procurement certifications (e.g., APICS, CPM, CPSM) are a plus .
