ED - Emergency Department (RN)

Assignment Details

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED)
• Start Date: June 9, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (option for 48)

• On-Call: No

Qualifications & Requirements

• License: Current NYS RN license required
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
  • ED experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Critical care and charge experience preferred
• Certifications:
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • PALS required (or must be obtained within 6 months)
  • Must be certified in IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy during orientation
• EMR System: MEDITECH

Skills & Expectations

• Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
• Strong clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient assessment skills
• Must prioritize safety for self and patients (e.g., use of lifts)
• Effective in high-stress environments with problem-solving abilities
• Leadership and delegation skills; may serve as charge nurse
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
