Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ER) | Nights

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 12-hour shifts | 72 hours per 2-week pay period
Pay Rate: $45.00 – $71.00/hour, based on years of experience
Relocation Assistance: Available
Weekend/On-Call: Possible

Position Overview

Bay Area Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department to join its team in Coos Bay, Oregon. The RN will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department while applying the nursing process, responding effectively to emergency situations, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Assess patient needs and apply the nursing process to deliver safe, effective care.
  • Respond appropriately to patient crises and emergency situations.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding care and treatment.
  • Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Maintain professional communication and consistent attendance.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon – Required.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association – Required.
  • Recent Emergency Department nursing experience – Required.
  • Recent acute-care hospital experience within the past 5 years – Required.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced emergency care environment.

Preferred Certifications

  • ACLS – American Heart Association.
  • PALS or ENA Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
  • CEN or equivalent national emergency nursing certification.
  • SAFE or approved workplace violence prevention training.

Preferred certifications may be obtained within the specified period after hire, where applicable.

Important: This is a union position, and the final hourly rate is determined by years of experience and is non-negotiable.
