This adult maximum-security correctional facility operates under the state department of corrections and is situated in Butler County, approximately 30 miles northeast of Wichita. The facility is located just east of El Dorado along a major highway in a rural setting outside the main community. Behavioral health services are delivered on-site within a structured correctional environment supported by a multidisciplinary care team that includes therapists, NPs, and MDs, serving an inpatient population of approximately 250.

About the Clinician's Workday

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will provide individual and group therapy to an adult inpatient correctional population on a full-time day shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week, managing a caseload of 15-20 patients per day. The clinician will conduct clinical evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and screenings to identify treatment needs and develop individualized treatment plans, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include responding to behavioral health crises, conducting suicide risk assessments, and collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, correctional staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Additional duties include supporting discharge and reentry preparation as well as rehabilitation-focused behavioral health programming designed to improve emotional functioning and encourage positive behavioral change.
