Position: Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift)
Location: 300 Edna M. Rockefeller Drive, Muskogee, OK 74401
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: 36 hours/week | 3 x 12-hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay: $27.17–$40.76 per hour
What You'll Do-
- Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized respiratory care plans.
- Administer respiratory treatments, including:
- Nebulizer therapy
- Metered-dose inhalers (MDIs)
- Humidity and aerosol therapy
- Medical gas therapy
- Perform respiratory procedures, including:
- Incentive spirometry
- Pulse oximetry
- Respiratory mechanics
- PEP therapy
- Chest physiotherapy
- Airway suctioning
- Intubation and extubation
- Bronchoscopy assistance
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and adjust settings based on patient response.
- Respond to Code Blue, Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), CRIT calls, and patient transports.
- Verify physician orders and accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding respiratory treatments.
- Mentor new respiratory therapists and participate in staff education.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
- Prioritize patient care while responding effectively to changing clinical conditions.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Licensure & Certifications-
- Valid Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License, Oklahoma Provisional RCP License, or Temporary Practice Letter issued by the Oklahoma Medical Board.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within two months of hire.
Experience-
- Previous respiratory therapy experience (0–6 months preferred).
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
