CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Houston Area, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift:
• Day Shift
• No Weekends
• 10-Hour Shifts (4 Days/Week) OR
• 12-Hour Shifts (3 Days/Week)

Compensation:
• $38.03 - $57.05/hour (Based on Experience)
• On-Call Pay: $5.00/hour
• Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis
• Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to join a highly specialized surgical services team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art cardiovascular surgical environment supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures while delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have prior CVOR experience or be a seasoned Operating Room RN interested in cross-training into cardiovascular surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients pre-operatively and ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
• Verify informed consent and participate in surgical "time-out" procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with aseptic standards.
• Prepare patients and surgical suites for cardiovascular and vascular procedures.
• Assist surgeons and procedural teams during complex cardiac surgeries.
• Monitor patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor within the surgical services department.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Promote quality outcomes and patient-centered care.
• Demonstrate adaptability and teamwork in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Qualifications
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Active Texas RN License or Multistate Compact RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• Minimum 1 year CVOR RN experience in an acute care hospital setting

Alternative Consideration:
• Experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of acute care OR experience may be considered for CVOR cross-training
