Accounts Payable Lead - Westminster, CO (Hybrid, in-office)
Salary - $58,000-$62,000, based on experience
Benefits - This position may be eligible for health, dental, vision, insurance, and 401(K).
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Lead to serve as a subject matter expert and day-to-day resource for a growing Accounts Payable team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with invoice review and approval, process improvement and training and development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the AP team, providing expertise and guidance to resolve escalated issues and complex transactions
- Analyze major accounts and prepare monthly reconciliations of subsidiary accounts to the general ledger in support of month-end close
- Develop and implement AP record-keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency
- Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies, process inconsistencies, and compliance issues; escalate as appropriate
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies across all AP functions
- Monitor performance indicators, analyze variances, and design and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Direct, train, and assign work to AP staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Systems: Microsoft Business Central, Concur
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience with a strong understanding of full-cycle AP and month-end close processes
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central and Concur a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and AP best practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and lead by example in a fast-paced environment
