Regular Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday - Friday: 6AM to 4:30PM

Madison Wood’s production departments play a key role in processing lumber for customer use. This entry-level Operator position works in a fast-paced industrial environment and is responsible for operating stationary machinery and the grading of lumber.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operating stationary machinery

  • Lift, carry, position, and stack treated and untreated lumber

  • Manually stage lumber and pull individual pieces from full units for special orders

  • Grade lumber for quality, specifications, and compliance

  • Band lumber units to ensure safe handling and transport

  • Apply end tags using pneumatic tools

  • Apply moisture barrier wrapping to lumber units

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production and work areas

  • Train and assist other employees in safe and proper equipment operation

  • Perform additional production-related duties as assigned

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week)

  • Ability to work overtime, extended hours, weekends, or alternate shifts as business needs require

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions

  • Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces continuously for 8–10 hours per shift

  • Ability to navigate stairs, inclines, and uneven surfaces

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with and without assistance, on a frequent basis

  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting/overhead lifting, reaching, bending, gripping, and material handling throughout the shift

  • Ability to safely operate power tools and heavy machinery

  • Ability to work around loud noise levels for extended periods of time

  • Ability to work in environments with dust, vibration, and treated lumber chemicals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

  • Ability to safely operate power tools and heavy machinery

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Ability to train and assist other employees

Safety & Compliance Requirements

  • Must successfully complete all required safety training and maintain applicable equipment certifications

  • Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions without posing a direct threat to self or others

Hiring Process:
