Who We're Looking For

The Central Staffing Scheduler owns staffing operations for nursing and mental health support staff in a fast-paced, 24/7 behavioral health setting. This role ensures safe, compliant staffing coverage across all units by managing schedules, responding to real-time callouts, and aligning staffing levels with patient census and acuity.

What You'll Do


  • Manage centralized scheduling for nursing (RNs/LPNs) and Mental Health Specialists across all shifts
  • Fill same-day callouts and last-minute vacancies to maintain safe staffing levels
  • Monitor staffing ratios in real time based on census, acuity, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate staffing across multiple units, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
  • Utilize float pool, overtime, and agency staff to address coverage gaps
  • Partner with nursing leadership to anticipate staffing needs and resolve shortages
  • Communicate critical staffing issues and updates to leadership in real time
  • Maintain accurate schedules, staffing records, and reporting data


What You Need


  • 2+ years of staffing/scheduling experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or multi-unit healthcare setting
  • Direct experience scheduling nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs/MHS)
  • Experience in a high-volume, 24/7 operations environment
  • Strong understanding of staffing ratios, compliance, and workforce coordination
  • Ability to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Behavioral health or inpatient facility experience (Preferred)
  • Experience supporting multi-unit or centralized staffing models (Preferred)
