Part-time Substitute Teacher - Jewish Day Schools, Brooklyn NY

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced teacher dedicated to creating an inclusive and innovative learning experience designed to help at-risk students reach their full academic in Yeshiva Day Schools, emotional, and social growth potential in a small group setting. Must have proven knowledge of classroom management and curriculum development to compliment in-class instruction.

REQUIREMENTS

• A degree from an accredited university in education or related field
• At least 1 years’ experience as lead classroom teacher
• Must be available from 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

DUTIES

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
• Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to improve instructional strategies and share resources.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other essential documentation.

SKILLS

• Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning, grading, and classroom activities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise in the classroom setting.
• Must be able to speak Yiddish or Hebrew.
