Job Description
Take back your weekend! This position is for four 9 hour shifts and every other weekend from 9-1 on Saturday. If you're done working at a big company where you have no say, take a job where your input is taken seriously.
Pharmacy Technician – Milford Pharmacy and Wellness Center
Expectation of work hours: Full Time; 36 to 40 hours per week
Business hours are 9am -6pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 9am-1pm
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures and patient/customer protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
2. Maintain licensure, knowledge, and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the services offered by the company.
3. Answer telephone and record all relevant patient information.
4. Handle cash and credit card transactions at point of sale.
5. Fill prescription orders and prepare for review by the pharmacist.
6. Data Entry for both compounds and traditional medications.
7. Assist in resolving general patient issues which may arise.
8. Develop technical knowledge of the products/services provided by the company and be able to provide information of the same to others upon request.
9. Monitor pharmaceutical supply levels and place appropriate orders as approved by the Pharmacist.
10. Potentially prepare compounded medications under supervision of Compounding Pharmacist per compounding protocols and standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
-Perform basic math functions
-Multi-tasking abilities
-Satisfactory results of drug testing and background check
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
-Knowledge of brand and generic drug names and medical terminology
-Previous pharmacy technician employment
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION
- RPhT or CPhT preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy
-Operation of office machinery and pharmacy equipment
-Occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds
-Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision, and peripheral vision
