Primary Therapist / Family Therapist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, recommends and provides individual, group, and family therapy services.
• Participates in the preparing, reviews and revisions of the treatment plans.
• Meets with client and or family, as scheduled, for individual, family, or group counseling.
• May recommend additional support services for clients and families.
• Attends all clinical supervision meetings as requested.
• Participates in staff orientation and training as required.
• Documents contacts of sessions and groups consistent with licensure and agency requirements.
• Conducts client intakes, evaluations, and assessments as assigned.
• Serves as a member of a clinical treatment team.
• Abides by issues of confidentiality and highest ethical clinical standards.
• Responsible for clinical services documentation and communication.
• Writes court reports if requested and attends court, when needed.
• Assists in community relation activity and represents the agency to the community.
• Responsible for therapeutic environment to include but not limited to clinical service quality, treatment planning, and special clinical needs of individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in counseling, social work, or closely related field.
• Arizona State of Behavioral Health Examiners license preferred.
• Must be willing to carry liability insurance.
• Strong professional and personal boundaries required.
• Energetic, self motivated, maintains professionalism and confidentiality.
• Good judgment, discretion and decision making skills.
• Extensive experience in mental health and substance abuse counseling.
• Maintains required training for all levels of care provided.
• Administration experience required.
• Valid Arizona Driver License
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Above average individual judgment, discretion and decision making.
• Excellent communication and social skills
• Teamwork and coaching skills essential.
