Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Hours: Monday through Friday: 3-5 hours per day 3:00pm-7:00/8:00pm

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

%CF; Lead and supervise classes with boys and girls of different age groups and talents:

%CF; Teach skills and abilities at each apparatus, following the standard of Active’s curriculum

%CF; Lead the warmup on a rotating basis; assist in the warmup when another coach is leading

%CF; Ensure controlled class management: concentrate on all gymnasts, don’t tolerate disrespectful behavior, practice positive reinforcement

%CF; Assess the skills of each gymnast every 12 weeks %CF; adhere to safe practices for all equipment %CF; ensure correct technique is used while spotting

%CF;review gym and facility safety with new gymnasts %CB; adapt equipment for age, ability, and size of gymnast

%CF; Plan and come prepared: with a positive attitude

%CF; arrive 15 minutes before class or meeting start times %CB; wear appropriate coaching uniform

%CF; complete student roll, assessments and timesheets on time

%CF;Determine who will sub your class if absent.)

%CF; Train new instructors (through shadowing) Additional Requirements:

%CF; A love of kids (and a lot of patience) and a love of gymnastics!

%CF; The ability to lift up to 50 pounds; physical activity involved in spotting and moving equipment: pulling, lifting, crouching, balancing, and climbing

%CF; The ability to personably communicate with parents and staff.
