Housekeeping Room Attendant

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all guests by cleaning and servicing guest rooms and public areas in accordance with the hotel's quality and cleanliness standards. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining efficiency, safety, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards.
  • Make beds and replace linens and towels.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Replenish guest room amenities, toiletries, coffee supplies, and other required items.
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure all rooms meet the hotel's cleanliness and inspection standards before being released for occupancy.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow proper handling and storage procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
  • Assist with cleaning public areas and laundry duties when needed.
  • Return lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and security procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and stretch.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Push housekeeping carts weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.

Work Schedule

  • Weekends and holidays are required.
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Overtime may be required during periods of high occupancy.
