Housekeeping Room Attendant
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all guests by cleaning and servicing guest rooms and public areas in accordance with the hotel's quality and cleanliness standards. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining efficiency, safety, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards.
- Make beds and replace linens and towels.
- Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and sanitize bathrooms.
- Replenish guest room amenities, toiletries, coffee supplies, and other required items.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
- Ensure all rooms meet the hotel's cleanliness and inspection standards before being released for occupancy.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
- Assist with cleaning public areas and laundry duties when needed.
- Return lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and security procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and stretch.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Push housekeeping carts weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
Work Schedule
- Weekends and holidays are required.
- Flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Overtime may be required during periods of high occupancy.
