SAFETY & TRAINING MANAGER (JFK Airport)
Starting Pay: $85,000 - $95,000/yr.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead safety, security, and training programs across warehouse and ramp operations.
- Promote a culture of safety through training, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, air carrier requirements, customer standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide safety guidance and training to managers and supervisors on safety best practices and incident prevention.
- Oversee training schedules to ensure timely completion of new hire and ongoing training programs.
- Manage training resources, facilities, and instructional personnel to support operational needs.
- Serve as the primary contact for workplace injury follow-up, recovery coordination, return-to-work processes, and workplace accommodations.
- Conduct physical security audits and investigate security incidents, policy violations, loss events, theft, fraud, workplace violence, and other critical incidents.
- Prepare and deliver reports related to safety, security, and investigation findings.
- Facilitate monthly safety meetings to identify hazards and enhance workplace safety.
- Lead strategic projects focused on injury prevention, risk reduction, and operational safety improvements.
- Promote a safety-first mindset throughout the organization.
- Support emergency response planning, crisis management, and incident response activities.
- Respond to safety and security events as required to support operational needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of aviation and warehouse operations experience.
- Minimum 5 years of ramp safety experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in law enforcement, loss prevention, security, investigations, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in disability management, workers’ compensation, injury management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ADA requirements, injury management practices, and ergonomics.
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data and utilize Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Experience conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of crisis management and emergency response planning.
- Strategic, proactive, and hands-on approach to workplace safety and training.
- Ability to support a 24/7 operational environment as needed.
