K-8 Librarian
Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team at Ann & Nate Levine Academy. Candidates who have a passion for literacy and fostering a love of reading while supporting student learning and academic achievement are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain the school library, including selecting, organizing and cataloging books and other resources.
2. Promote literacy and a love of reading by planning and implementing engaging programs, activities and events for students.
3. Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction by providing resources and assisting with research.
4. Instruct students in effective library use and research strategies appropriate to their grade level.
5. Maintain Organized, welcoming and safe library environment that encourages independent learning.
6. Adhere to school policies and professional standards.
Skills:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Strong knowledge of library management practices, children’s literature and information literacy.
3. Ability to engage students and foster a positive reading culture.
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students and parents.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience working in a school library or educational setting preferred.
• Ability to instruct students and effectively manage library operations.
