Description

The Aircraft Mechanic plays a pivotal role in maintaining and repairing various aircraft system components. They use power and hand tools to diagnose and rectify malfunctions, working closely with supervisors and fellow mechanics to provide prompt and effective solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Perform regular system inspections.
  • Maintain systems and equipment.
  • Use gauges and diagnostic tests to detect malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace broken aircraft parts.
  • Perform troubleshooting.
  • Keep maintenance and repair logs.
  • Use power and hand tools.
  • Understand and apply guidelines from manuals and blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with regional safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and electricians.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an FAA-approved aircraft Mechanic program preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is required.
  • Experience working with power hand tools in a mechanical or aviation maintenance environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Physical fitness and manual dexterity for performing tasks in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required for aviation safety compliance.
