Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll, procurement, account reconciliations, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Process and record accounts payable transactions accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enter vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements into QuickBooks and prepare checks for payment.
  • Review vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and respond to payment and account inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing accounts payable reports and other financial reports for management.
  • Enter and maintain employee timecards to support payroll processing.
  • Assist with procurement by purchasing office and operational supplies and processing related payments.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation for internal use and external audits.
  • Support the Accounting Manager with daily, monthly, and year-end accounting activities.
  • Assist with account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit card accounts, petty cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, employee benefits, and other general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, budget reports, and other interim financial reports.
  • Research accounting issues and provide accurate financial information as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
  • Perform administrative duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
  • Experience with procurement and employee timecard processing.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred. NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and data entry skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour


Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (40 hours per week)
