We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to join a broad-based civil practice in Mendon, Massachusetts on a Long-term Contract basis. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who enjoys hands-on litigation work, values direct client interaction, and is comfortable managing a variety of matters across several areas of civil law. The role offers exposure to personal injury, family law, probate, commercial disputes, and land use matters within a collaborative and steady office setting.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other case-related documents for a diverse civil litigation caseload.
• Manage discovery activities, including drafting requests, reviewing responses, and organizing supporting case materials.
• Communicate with clients to gather facts, explain legal developments, and support them throughout the life of a matter.
• Conduct legal research and apply findings to case strategy, written arguments, and procedural planning.
• Assist with litigation matters spanning personal injury, divorce, probate, commercial disputes, and land use issues.
• Support case progression from initial assessment through resolution by maintaining organized files and meeting court deadlines.
• Use legal technology and modern tools, including AI-based resources, to improve research efficiency and document preparation.
• Contribute to a practice environment that values professionalism, adaptability, and long-term continuity of client service.• Active attorney license required.
• Prior experience handling civil litigation matters in a law firm or comparable legal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Working knowledge of discovery procedures and related case preparation responsibilities.
• Strong legal research skills with the ability to analyze issues and present clear written arguments.
• Comfortable using computers and legal technology platforms in daily practice.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for research or drafting is preferred.
• Additional bar admission in another jurisdiction is a plus.
