Senior Tax Accountant

We are a boutique tax and financial advisory firm serving a select group of individuals and business owners. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, and providing proactive tax planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state individual, corporate, partnership, S corporation, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns.
• Participate in client meetings and clearly explain tax strategies and concepts
• Oversee responses to IRS and state tax notices and assist with audit defense as needed
• Assist with payroll processing and preparing 1099 forms
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the year
• Stay current with changes in federal and state tax laws

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• CPA strongly preferred (EA or equivalent experience considered)
• Proficient in tax preparation software and possess foundational skills in QuickBooks online
• Strong expertise in complex individual and business tax returns
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
