Job Description

About Friends and Mentors Inc.

Friends and Mentors Inc. is a Brockton-based group practice and youth-serving nonprofit dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and families thrive. Through the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI), our outpatient program delivers culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy to MassHealth-eligible youth and families. Clinicians work alongside therapeutic mentors, family partners, and community programs — a true team backing every case.

The Role

We're hiring Master level clinicians to provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, teens, and their families. The ideal candidate brings a warm, engaging presence, strong clinical judgment, and a genuine investment in the youth of the Brockton community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and deliver individual, family, and group therapy tailored to each client's needs.
  • Develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients, with measurable, time-specific goals grounded in medical necessity.
  • Provide crisis intervention and coordinate care with internal therapeutic mentors and external providers (schools, PCPs, DCF, ED follow-up) as needed.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation — progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries — within required timelines.
  • Manage your caseload proactively: follow up after missed sessions, document those efforts, and protect continuity of care.
  • Submit billing and administrative documentation by the end of each business day.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related clinical field.
  • Massachusetts license: LICSW, LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT. Pre-licensed clinicians are considered with an active supervision plan.
  • Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Comfort with EHR-based documentation and standard office technology.

Preferred

  • Experience within the CBHI service array (Outpatient, IHT, TM, In-Home Behavioral Services).
  • Bilingual (Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Creole).
  • Trauma-informed training (TF-CBT, ARC, CPP, or similar).
  • Experience with first-generation, immigrant, or BIPOC families.

What We Offer

  • W-2 employment with compensation commensurate with license and experience.
  • Hybrid schedule with telehealth flexibility.
  • Free clinical supervision toward independent licensure.
  • Manageable caseloads designed to protect clinician wellbeing.
  • A mission-driven team that genuinely supports its people.
  • Benefits — health, dental, PTO
