Congress Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Project Superintendent to lead on-site field operations and support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects throughout New England. This position requires hands-on supervision, coordination, and management of all field activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the contract documents, budget, and schedule.

The Construction Project Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong construction knowledge, proven leadership skills, and the ability to anticipate issues, drive the schedule, maintain quality, and uphold Congress Construction’s safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow, implement, and enforce project safety requirements and company safety programs
  • Communicate with the Project Manager daily regarding project status, schedule impacts, cost impacts, changes, and any potential significant issues
  • Provide clear direction, coordination, and leadership to subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Read, apply, and manage the requirements of the General Contract and Subcontracts in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain, and implement the project schedule, look-ahead schedules and field procedures
  • Document construction activities through daily reports, photographs and other methods using Procore Construction Management Software
  • Supervise the total construction effort to ensure the project is built in accordance with the design, budget, schedule, and contract requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site functions, including scheduling, material control, quality control, trade coordination, construction sequencing, means, methods, and equipment
  • Provide technical assistance and interpretation of drawings and specifications to support field execution
  • Coordinate field design changes, purchase requisitions, and other project documentation while working closely with the Project Manager
  • Review all sub’s pay applications, field design changes and other cost matters
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, all OSHA requirements, company safety programs, work rules, and other applicable requirements; document violations and implement corrective actions as required
  • Monitor trade productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project
  • Supervise trade employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract
  • Complete, maintain, and submit required reports, logs, inspections, punch lists, and other project documentation using Procore Construction Management Software
  • Communicate and reinforce Congress Construction’s vision, mission, values, and commitment to quality

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of field management and/or trade supervision experience on comparable commercial construction projects
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, scheduling, cost control, trade coordination, and safety
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents, contracts, technical procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, customer-driven environment and achieve results with minimal guidance
  • Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License
  • Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction management software, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and reliable transportation
  • Capability to work in and physically navigate active construction environments while adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the Northeast and beyond as needed

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience supervising projects in the $7.5 million to $70 million range or larger
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, or similar construction technology platforms
