Bookkeeper
Job Description
Aurora Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a part-time Bookkeeper.
We are seeking an applicant to perform day-to-day financial tasks of the school. The bookkeeper implements accounting policies and procedures relating to financial reporting and record-keeping consistent with ethical and legal requirements of a non-profit organization
This position requires a degree in accounting or related financial field, or comparative work experience. The candidate must be experienced in Quickbooks, Excel and Google Workspace.
This is an hourly position, requiring approximately 20 - 25 hours per week within the Aurora Waldorf School facility from the hours of 8am until 4pm.
Overall responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
- Monitor budget and cash flow throughout the year
- Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Prepare, submit and enter payroll
- Track annual giving and multi-year donations
- Prepare letters for delinquent families
- Create reports as needed for Administration, Finance Committee, Treasurer and Board
- Prepare and make regular bank deposits
- Reconcile Lunch Program and prepare and deposit monies
- Gather all documentation for yearly audit
- Prepare monthly financials
- Oversee employee benefits, such as health insurance and 403-B
- Reconcile and record School Store income and expenses
- Assist with financial aspects of all development and outreach events
